A native Floridian (born in Jacksonville,) Steve fled the state by the age of 1.5 years . . . to spend the majority of his youth in the Pacific Northwest (Whidbey Island . . . 100 miles north of Seattle.) He returned to South Florida 20 years ago (kicking and screaming) but has found reason to love the Sunshine State.

Steve currently serves as Staff Minister at Center for Spiritual Living - Fort Lauderdale (CSL - FTL), where he began his education in The Science of Mind in 1994. He has served as minister to the church’s GLBTQ (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, and Questioning) community since 1999 – the same year he was first licensed as a Minister by Religious Science International. Ordained July 2006, he is now a life-time Minister for International Centers for Spiritual Living. Steve has also served as Youth Church Instructor, Teen Group Facilitator, Youth Center Director, Regional Youth Education Facilitator for Religious Science International, as well as Director of the Prayer Ministry Team (our corp. of Practitioners at Center for Spiritual Living - Fort Lauderdale.)

In addition to his on-going work with the GLBTQ community, Steve directs an outreach program to the recovery community by providing a bi-weekly spiritual service for the PRIDE Unit at Fort Lauderdale Hospital which offers in-residence programs for those recovering from substance abuse. He also serves on the GLBTQ Youth Advisory Board of Broward County.

Steve and his partner, Kent Barnard, are beginning their 15th year together as life partners. Kent is also a minister at CSL- FTL and together, when they are not being bossed around by their feline children, they enjoy cycling, kayaking, friends, and family.
