Susan Dirgins-Friend is our bright, warm, and energetic Director of Religious Education (DRE). Susan and her husband Doug raised their two now-teenaged children, Spike & Savannah, as UUs. When not working at UUCFL or at home, Susan uses her music degrees as a professional bass player in local orchestras and as a substitute teacher in Broward County schools.

Rev. Gail Tapscott, M. Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, serves as spiritual guide for adults and children in our congregation. Rev. Gail works closely with our DRE in planning programs and activities for our church family. Scholarly and with a dry wit, Rev. Gail leads many of our adult religious education programs.

You are the most valuable player on your children's religious education team. Share your beliefs with your children. Have your children attend R.E. classes regularly to maximize their comfort and friendship-building opportunities. Visit their classrooms. Talk to their teachers or the DRE. Get involved in their classes. Participate in inter-generational events. Be aware of upcoming events. Enjoy an adult R.E. class yourself.
